Race for Life

28th September 2017

Thank you to parents, families and friends of St Nicholas School who supported our fund raising events this week.

We held a Macmillan Coffee morning on Wednesday and raised over £130 from donations for cakes provided by staff and parents.

We then held our first Race for Life Event this morning and all children, from Nursery to Yr 6 ran up to 4k. We were blessed with a sunny warm morning and the children were very excited to run the route together around the school grounds. Staff acted as marshals to guide the children along the route and keep them safe and Sandra, our Catering Manager, even ran the race alongside the KS2 children and completed 4 laps of the school.

They all received a medal and a cake once they had finished their race. We were delighted that our local Councillor, Emma Brennan, came to support the event and hand out the medals alongside Fr Jonathan Stewart from Blessed Sacrament Church.

After the race they enjoyed a 'bagged' picnic lunch on the playground

From donations received to date we estimate that we have made well over £1,900 which will be divided between Cancer Research UK, Clic Sargent and Macmillan. Thank you all very much.
