Football Triumph!!

The Utilita Kids Cup

A massive congratulations and well done goes to our St Nic's Football Team!

On Thursday 23rd January, we went to the Kids Cup Football Tournament managed by the EFL Trust.

The team played against 32 schools from all over Devon. The team's expertise, skills, resilience and teamwork led them to become the winning team!!

The EFL trust is an organisation to get kids into football - this tournament is a national tournament split into 3 divisions in the UK. We won the title for our division, and will be playing in Swindon, representing Exeter City.

Not only have we won the title butthe Exeter City players and coaches will be coming into school to train the team. The team will be given an Exeter City football kit for the regional game in Swindon. If we win this round, we will be given the opportunity to play at Wembley Stadium. More information about the trust is here: https://www.efltrust.com/kidscup/

Everyone in the team was a credit to the school. All players had respect towards all teams and each other - constantly encouraging and supporting the ups and downs, on and off the pitch - I think the photos say it all.

Well done Isaac for scoring the winning goal in the penalty shoot out!

Well done Dan for leading the team on and off the pitch - and the pings!

Well done James for guarding the goal so heroically and saving the penalties!

Well done Oscar for constantly springing to action and taking the ball back to the other side!

Well done Isiah for your attacking and passing!

Well done Nathanial for your dribbling skills past the defenders!

Well done Ben for clearing our lines!

Well done Max for being a solid defender!

I could not be prouder of our football team! Swindon will be a once in a lifetime opportunity and you've earned it… See you at Wembley!!
